I picked up my 2011 archery buck last night, been a long wait but it was
worth it. This is the first buck I've ever had mounted and it wasn't
just because of the rack but the fact that it was a pretty special deer
to me.
The aggressive pose I chose for the mount was a no-brainer
as that was his exact pose when I released the arrow. He was coming in
to confront two other bucks and he was a bit peeved. I'm tickled to
death in the way it turned out and just looking at it takes me back to
that exact moment in time, which is what a mount should do in my opinion.
I
want to thank Bill Solinger of Solinger's Taxidermy in Shelocta, PA for
an outstanding job! It exceeded my expectations and I couldn't be
happier.
For anyone who missed it the first time around, the story of this hunt and the buck can be found in this post...Ending A Drought and Moving Forward.
Great looking mount!!! What's the story behind it?
ReplyDeleteThanks Seth! I posted a link to the story at the end of the post.
DeleteNow there's a family heirloom.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Just as you saw it as the arrow flew.
Thank you! It is just as a saw it, the head is even turned the right direction. Every time I look at it the hunt is replayed over again in my mind.
